Hubungan Ketimpangan Ekonomi, Modal Manusia, dan Pembangunan Infrastruktur dengan Migrasi Internal di Indonesia
This study aims to describe internal migration flows in Indonesia and examine their relationship with migration factors using the 2005 and 2015 Inter-Censal Population Survey and 2010 Population Census data. This study found that Java is the primary migration destination during the 2005?2015 period. By using a modified gravity model, this study proves the role of economic inequality, human capital, and infrastructure development as migration determinants. This study found that internal migration in Indonesia moves to provinces with higher economic inequality, which shows that adverse selection occurs. This study also found that internal migration in Indonesia moves to provinces with higher human capital, the ratio of local government budget capital expenditure to Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), and road density, and moves from provinces with higher education institutions. As higher human capital, the ratio of capital expenditure of local government budget to GRDP, and road density in destination provinces is related to the potential for increased migration benefits. Furthermore, higher education institutions in origin provinces are related to more information available regarding opportunities in other provinces. This proves that internal migration in Indonesia is driven by individual utility maximization motivation.Ada Tabel
